Did you know that 95% of mattress ticking is made from nothing but synthetic materials? Polyester, acrylic, and nylon are the most common materials used for this purpose. Unfortunately, there are numerous disadvantages associated with this synthetic choice, particularly for your health.
Take polyester, for example, a material that is water-resistant. While this can be handy at times, it also has its downsides. Due to its water resistance, the ticking absolutely cannot breathe, which results in a stuffy sleeping environment. It's akin to sleeping on a woven plastic sheet, far from ideal for a good night's sleep. At Tuur®, we don't compromise on quality and choose organic cotton as the basis for our products.
