What is synthetic latex?

Synthetic latex is an artificially produced foam based on petrochemicals: an imitation of natural latex but of lower quality. 

• Shorter lifespan (5-7 years), less elastic and poorer breathability
• Can release volatile organic compounds (VOCs)
• Note: many 'latex mattresses' contain only a small % of real latex - always check the certificate
