Recycled upholstery: The fabric consists of 85% recycled polyester and 15% cotton – strong, durable, and circular by design.

Natural mattress surface: The sleeping surface is finished with 100% organic cotton – gentle on the skin and free from pesticides.

Comfort without chemicals: The protective layer is made from recycled fabric, combined with a 2 cm high-resilience foam layer. No harmful glues or chemicals are used.

In this way, the Tuur® Boxspring brings together eco-friendly materials and lasting comfort – without compromising on style or quality. A conscious choice for those who want to sleep with peace of mind.

A boxspring consists of a sprung base with a mattress on top (optionally with a topper), offering extra comfort, support, and ventilation. Unlike a slatted base, a boxspring provides a higher entry height and a more luxurious appearance.

Frequently asked questions about boxspring

A boxspring is a sleeping system where the mattress rests on a spring base instead of a slatted frame. It provides extra spring cushioning, a sleek design and an ergonomic bed height.

• Consists of 3 layers: box (base) + mattress + optional topper
• Sleek upholstered design without a visible frame
• The Tuur® Boxspring is made from certified, sustainable materials

Yes, a high-quality boxspring is perfectly healthy and ergonomically advantageous due to its comfortable entry height and cushioning spring system.

• Ergonomic entry height reduces stress on back and joints
• Choose a boxspring with ventilation openings for a healthy sleep climate
• Invest in quality: poor spring quality shortens the lifespan of your mattress

The box itself lasts on average 10 to 15 years. The mattress on top needs replacing sooner, typically after 7 to 8 years.

A boxspring itself is no guarantee against back problems. What matters is the mattress on top: it needs to keep your spine in a neutral position. A mattress that is too soft on a boxspring can actually make back problems worse.

Yes, in principle any mattress with the right dimensions fits on a boxspring. Keep in mind that a thinner or softer mattress makes less optimal use of the springs in the box.

Any mattress that is sufficiently thick and supportive can go on a boxspring. A mattress with zoned support, such as natural latex or pocket springs combined with latex, pairs best with the comfort the box already provides.

An honest overview of boxspring pros and cons.

• ✓ Ergonomic entry height, extra spring cushioning, sleek upholstered design
• ✗ Less ventilation than slatted base, higher price, harder to move
• Conclusion: ideal for those who prioritise design and ease of use; choose a slatted base for maximum ventilation

Both are high-quality - the choice depends on personal preference. A boxspring provides extra spring cushioning and a higher entry; a slatted base ventilates better and is more flexible in price.

• Boxspring: extra cushioning, sleek design, higher entry
• Slatted base: better ventilation under the mattress, lower cost
• The Tuur® Wooden Bed Frame is a sustainable alternative with optimal ventilation

With a boxspring, your mattress rests on an upholstered base with its own springs, providing extra cushioning and a higher sleeping position. With a regular bed, the mattress lies on a slatted base or bed frame without that extra spring layer.
